The Carriage
The carriage is similar to a conventional forklift because the lifting attachment could be tilted backwards and forwards from its horizontal. The tilt that is possible on this machine exceeds more than that of the vertical masts. There are various types of lifting attachments available, and this ability to position makes them as effective as possible.
Most telehandlers have the capability of tilting to a position which is actually parallel to the ground. Several models have rotating carriages too. This allows the operator to radially adjust the lifting attachment. This translates to the load being capable of being tilted backwards and forwards, and side to side.
Load Capacity
Telehandlers have a load capacity rather similar to that of the vertical mast model. The unit's overall capacity will be dependent on things such as: the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable and boom extension and angle, whether the unit is lifting on outriggers or on rubber tires. Moreover, which lifting attachment plays an main part, as does the wind, the grade the machinery is operating on et cetera. All of these specifics can be changing regularly and this gives the operator much more information to think about.
Telehandlers will often have several different load charts available to them, giving them a good reference they can utilize to determine a particular lift's load capacity. Depending on the configuration of the boom and the unit in particular, the load capacity can differ by thousands of pounds all together.
