CareLift Equipment has been designing and making excellent rough terrain forklifts ever since the year 1962. Every day the company strives to help all their customers reach their goals and deliver value as they know the bottom line is dependability and performance.
There are 2 general types of boom lifts. These units are straight boom lifts and articulated boom lifts. Often, these units are hydraulically powered. Most commonly straight booms are the great alternative for jobs that need a high reach with no obstructions. The turntable on the machinery can rotate 360 degrees with an extendable boom. This extendable boom is able to be raised vertically to below horizontal. Since the operator is able to steer and maneuver the vehicle while the boom is completely extended, it is a versatile machinery. These units are available in propane, gas or diesel configurations as well as 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive.
The articulated boom lifts are utilized for jobs that require to reach up and over obstacles so as to gain access. These specialized lifts are utilized for jobs which are not easily carried out by straight telescopic booms. These lifts are almost identical to the straight boom lift in most aspects except in the boom's ability to articulate. There are various articulation points on the boom in order to allow it to bend in a range of different directions allowing it to move around any objects easily within the work site.
Some heavy-duty boom lifts come equipped with outriggers so as to maintain stability while the boom lift is fully extended. The outriggers provide the operator with some extra confidence and safety. Correct training is required before using boom lifts in order to ensure the operator, the jobsite and everyone working in the vicinity stays safe.
Boom lifts enable tasks that used to need many more man hours to be done in a much shorter time period. These machinery have really increased production and have revolutionized the material handling industry.
