Change an LPG Cylinder
There are different types of sources that could power forklifts. They can run utilizing liquid propane or LP gas, gasoline, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for many applications. There are some facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled anytime they require. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders which could be changed out when the machine has to be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you must really be careful in order to avoid possible serious injuries. Like for instance: be sure to put on the appropriate safety equipment like goggles or safety glasses and heavy gloves. Turn off the forklift ignition before changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed firmly. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it will turn in the opposite direction of a normal connection and never utilize a metal tool or any kind of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened just by using the hand.
