Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck often goes by other names like: Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie. These pieces of equipment are essentially a motorized type of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Rider" versions and "Walkie" models.
The walkie model as the name implies, is made to allow the operator to walk along the machine while they lift and transport loads. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are ideal for frequent transporting of cargo over extended distances within manufacturing applications and warehouses. They are really fast and maneuverable.
It is important to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and hence, it is not recommended to move tall or unstable loads with these machines. A rider can be the best answer if you are searching for a cheap method for transporting cargo from point A to point B. If though, you should transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to use a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model might be the right option.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This equipment is particularly designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the operator and the load with a purpose to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Typically, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle that can operate in smaller aisles. They are very handy pieces of equipment during cycle counting situations as well as in physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
