Telescopic forklifts
Telescopic forklift units are outfitted with a pronged lift on an arm that extends over the top of the truck providing versatility and great height. The arm, or crane, is referred to as a telescopic boom. The boom allows the operator to raise the load to great heights while maintaining a high degree of control. Regular lift trucks could not move the load away from and towards the forklift cab, while a telescopic forklift can allow that movement. The telescopic forklift is commonly used in agriculture and construction. It is better for applications where greater control and lift is needed.
In cases needing high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments called forklift carton clamp attachments are recommended. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings which allow the operator to apply uniform clamping force when lifting a cargo. It is available with a backrest which protects the cargo from damage.
A slip sheet attachment fits onto a slip sheet forklift. It is utilized for storing systems which don't use pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forklift forks. This type of system is useful for overseas shipments and intra-corporate deliveries.
A lift platform that is designed to lift workers is known as a Man Basket. It attaches to the forks on the forklift and a strap or chain is utilized to attach the basket to the forklift carriage. The platform has railings to protect the staff from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are utilized for fastening the worker's safety harness.
