In 1966, Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries. During that time, he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift which functioned on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" which was utilized to lower and raise the hoist. This device really impressed customers and therefore, the name was born.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into various new markets, because the demand for work lifts and platforms grew. Over time, as the demand for new machinery to meet many applications grew, the company made itself known in many new markets. Like for instance, Genie went into manufacturing man-lifts, articulated booms, light towers stick booms and telehandlers.
Due to the economic slump during the start of the 2000s, Genie decided to acquire a partner who had the same values. They partnered up with Terex Corporation. This company has a history acquiring machine manufacturers across the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Due to the Genie name and its solid reputation in the workplace, it was determined to maintain the Genie brand as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the first few years following the sale. Therefore, all Genie equipment continue to be marketed under the Genie brand.
Genie takes pride in listening to their customers. The company is dedicated to continually improving quality and efficiency and is also committed to minimizing waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on providing exceptional support. These are the very work practices which have made Genie a trusted brand over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for quality and top-of-the-line equipment.
The DC and Bi-Energy equipment offered by Genie offers quiet operation, emission-free even in the most delicate work environments. Where the equipment needs to be driven significant distances, like in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the advantages of a 48V DC machinery along with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
Telescopic booms provide greater horizontal reach, as opposed to any of the various aerial platforms. These machines are ideal for small areas or limited access areas in all types of environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to provide utmost productivity. These machinery provide the drive speed and supreme traction you need in order to travel around the work site and job area.
