Inventor Jerome Case established the business of CASE within Racine, when he started the construction of threshing equipment. Later the business gained recognition internationally as the first manufacturer of steam engines for its agricultural application. By 1912, Case had become established within the construction equipment industry. The quickly started to manufacture road building machines like steam rollers and graders. Case grew their construction machine company through various acquisitions, starting with the American Tractor Corporation in the year 1957. Case had expanded their company by the mid-1990s to become the leading maker of light-sized to medium-sized construction machines.
In 1999, Case merged with New Holland to become CNH Global. This business became responsible for advertising some of the top brands of construction and agricultural machinery in the globe.
